From Key West you can fish both the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. Inshore, Coral Reef and deep sea fishing are all at your fingertips. From Key West fishing at its’ very best is just minutes away.

Offshore:
dolphin • wahoo • sailfish • tuna • barracuda • king mackerel • bonita

Offshore fishing offers incredible excitement, by either livebaiting or trolling. Livebaiting utilizes techniques such as freelining, kites, and drifting, to produce constant action from tuna, bonita, mackerel, wahoo, dolphin, and sailfish. If you prefer trolling weedlines, rips and drop-offs in the blue water, be prepared for an awesome fishing experience. Trolling these areas produces runs on wahoo, dolphin, marlin (both white and blue), and sailfish. Both styles offer great action.

Wreck:
permit • cobia • grouper • snapper • sharks • king fish • bonita • barracuda • amberjack • tuna

Key West offers hundreds of wrecks, from 20 to 300 feet deep, each offering non-stop action. Gulf wrecks lie from about 15 to 35 miles to the north of the island chain and offer great action on cobia, permit, snapper, grouper, and sharks. The Atlantic side wrecks are usually deeper and offer large amberjack, grouper, cobia, sharks, bonita, blackfin tuna, and many others. Key West wrecks are very productive all times of the year with different species hitting all the time. Livebaiting and chumming are key to turning a wreck 'on' and keeping the action non-stop. If action and a great catch for dinner sounds like your cup of tea, then you should try wreck fishing!

Reef:
black grouper • gag grouper • red grouper • barracuda • yellowtail snapper • mutton snapper

Reef fishing in Key West is like no place else! Key West offers thousands of reef patches from here to the Dry Tortugas. Most are seldom fished, therefore leaving them fully stocked for plenty of action. Reef fishing is the sure bet on action. Techniques include livebaiting, deadbait and chumming. The trick to productively fish a reef patch area is to create an aggressive feeding frenzy between snappers and groupers, drawing them away from the reef areas. Using the combination of livebait and fresh dead bait in the chum line draws many species such as yellowtail and mangrove snappers, and others like mackeral and jacks. These trips are great for those looking for all-day action and learning the 'feel' of the bite. If reef fishing interests you, then you'll probably also like wreck fishing. Why not try them both?
